When someone thinks of Hong Kong, they might immediately envision shopping or dim sum, but did you know that the city is loaded with picturesque pools? From a swimming pool in the clouds to a natural infinity pool on a mountainside, Hong Kong is chock full of great places to cool off.
While a swim in the hotel pool is an excellent way to unwind, a swimming pool with a view is next-level. When you’ve got a beautiful view of the Hong Kong skyline or Victoria Harbour, your staycation is elevated to the next level. This is especially true when you have a rooftop pool that has been beautifully designed and built with exotic materials, like this gorgeous turquoise Balinese stone-built pool at K11 Artus Hong Kong. This outdoor pool is 25 meters long, perfect for a few laps and offers stunning views of the city below. Make sure to check it out during sunset for a perfect end to a relaxing day at the pool.
The Ma On Shan swimming pool complex is another spectacular swimming pool in Hong Kong, and it looks out toward Tolo Harbour. The massive complex houses a main pool, spectator stands that can accommodate 1,200 people, and two smaller training and teaching pools for swimmers of all levels. The best part is, this pool is also home to four waterslides, including a pair of 9-meter slides that are supposedly Hong Kong’s fastest.
In the heart of the bustling Central District, Island Shangri-La’s pool is an oasis in the middle of the urban jungle. With its avenue of palm trees, umbrella-lined lounge chairs, and massive pool, the resort-like pool will have you feeling like you’re on vacation in a beachside paradise despite being right in the middle of the city.
Located on the 118th floor of the International Commerce Center, the swimming pool at The Ritz-Carlton is one of the most spectacular in the world. The pool is surrounded by floor to ceiling windows and features mirrored ceilings that showcase the water. There’s even a section of the pool that has LED walls to create the illusion of coral reefs underwater.
The slick, modern Kerry Hotel Hong Kong offers a beautiful rooftop pool that is usually exclusive to their hotel guests, but outsiders are welcome to hang out for the weekend during summer events! The pool is 25 meters long and offers a stunning view of Victoria Harbor. This pool is built with Myrtha technology, which allows for state-of-the-art pools that are compliant with FINA regulations.
Another beautiful pool with a gorgeous view is this sleek indoor pool at The Peninsula Hong Kong. The stylish pool is adorned with a variety of flowers and swans, and there’s even a waterfall that cascades down a cliff into the pool! It’s the perfect spot for a swim after a delicious meal at The Terrace restaurant. This is one of our favorite rooftop pools in Hong Kong, and it’s definitely worth a visit.
